SUMMARY
The Welder welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, plant equipment, mobile homes, motors and generators, according to layouts, blueprints or work orders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Uses processes such as 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G standards using a variety/combination of welding techniques such as brazing, gas welding, Metal Inert Gas Welding, GMAW, or Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding and any combination of ASMAW/shielded metal arc welding processes in a shop or job site environment.
• Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases size of metal parts, positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years’ related experience and or formal vocational/technical training.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, managers and staff members.
