SUMMARY

This position is responsible for quality control and safety inspections for the Fort Gordon Contract.  Provide quality leadership in the development/implementation of standard operating procedures and risk management plans.  Provide training to the workforce in quality principals and objectives.  This position is also responsible for the compliance and implementation with Safety Training and Compliance programs and incident investigations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

 

Conduct quality control and safety inspections in accordance with the Quality Control and Safety Programs.

Coordinate inspections with managers and supervisors.

Prepare and distribute Safety and Inspection reports.

Conduct requested special inspections.

Assist other inspectors with inspections.

Administer Quality Control Plans that are in compliance with all contracts and company standards for the site.

 

Conduct a management review of the Quality Control Plans and make adjustments as necessary.

 

Administer Safety Procedures/Programs that are in compliance with all contracts and company standards.

 

Conduct a management review of the Safety Procedures/Programs and make adjustments as necessary.

 

Provide Quality and Safety in Leadership in the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures.

 

Implement and administer an Inspection Program for the site. This includes an inspection schedule, inspection checklists, and all regularly scheduled Quality Control reports and forms for the department.  Oversee and ensure the preparation of reports and forms required from each Quality Control/Safety staff members at all company site locations.

 

Investigate and close pending Preventive and Corrective Action Requests this can include creating reports, presentations and providing training.

Assist the management team and provide Quality Control and Safety management support as necessary.

Promote quality and safety culture by implementing training programs and training managers and staff on quality control and safety programs.

Investigate incidents, take corrective action and create reports for management review.

Communicate with customers as contract requires.

Recommends, evaluates, and participates in staff development.

Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Mgmt or related field desired with a minimum of 3-5 years of extensive Quality Control and Safety Management functional experience related to Federal and state contracts.    Security clearance may be required.  The position requires knowledge of the ISO 9002 Quality Systems Standard and must be proficient with Microsoft Office and general office equipment.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Must have strong strategic and analytical skills and sound business judgment.
