SUMMARY

The position is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with leadership, management, profitability, and customer satisfaction of facilities operations and maintenance support on Fort Gordon.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plans, directs, and controls the management of the Structures (carpentry, HVAC, welding, signage, plumbing and electrical), Heating Plant, Roads & Grounds, Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance, Pest Control, Wastewater Treatment, and Refuse; and ensures all contractual obligations are fulfilled, quality standards are met, and associated expectation of performance are achieved.

Provides expert direction and guidance to subordinates, develops schedules, and formulates work plans.

Responsible for insuring compliance with corporate and local policies and procedures, including but not limited to: safety, property accountability, employee training, and business processes.

Is a point of contact for project site personnel, customers and the corporate office.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum requirements for this position are a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, mathematics, business, public administration. 5 years’ or more Operations experience in Project Management of a large, multi-faceted base operations type contract OR a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a PM on an O&M contract greater than $20 million.  A valid Georgia Driver’s License, ability to maintain military gate pass access, and ability to obtain Department of Defense (DOD) secret clearance required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts.

REASONING ABILITY

Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Must possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Must have strong strategic and analytical skills and sound business judgement.
